PoE 2 Summoner Upgrade Guide for Infernalist Witches | U4GM
By the time a PoE 2 Witch reaches the first maps that punish slow reactions, a proper Minion Army setup starts to feel less like a gimmick and more like a survival plan. Your skeletons take the first hit, your mages keep pressure on distant packs, and you get room to read dangerous modifiers instead of standing in them. I usually keep some Path of Exile 2 Currency aside before changing the build around, because minion upgrades are most useful when they solve a real weakness rather than chasing a tiny DPS gain.
The Infernalist advantage is breathing room
Infernalist fits the summoner playstyle because the fire-focused minion theme and recoup options support the job players actually want from the build: staying alive while the army works. Skeleton warriors are the front line, while mages and golems help maintain damage when enemies refuse to stand still. The key is not trying to summon every possible minion at once. A crowded loadout can become awkward if your damage sources need different buffs, supports, or positioning. Pick a core group that clears comfortably, then use the remaining slots to improve survivability or boss damage.
During the campaign, minion life often matters more than players expect. When your frontline keeps dying, you lose damage, control, and the safety buffer that makes summoners relaxing. New players commonly stack only minion damage nodes, then wonder why bosses keep reaching them. Take minion life alongside damage, and don't ignore your own defenses on the passive tree. A dead Witch has no army, no matter how impressive the tooltip looked in town.
Mapping rewards steady upgrades, not constant rerolls
This build scales well into endgame because it can clear while the player focuses on curses, buffs, dodging, and reading the fight. For normal mapping, prioritize gear with minion life, minion damage, and useful +level bonuses before getting distracted by rare luxury pieces. Bossing asks for more patience: refresh your curses, avoid overcommitting near telegraphed attacks, and let the minions keep attacking while you reposition. Infernalist recoup mechanics can help smooth out mistakes, but they aren't permission to face-tank content that your army was meant to absorb.
Atlas choices should also match the pace of the build. Temple and Abyss content can work nicely when you want consistent encounters where minions have time to establish control, rather than rushing every screen for a lottery drop. RNG will still decide how quickly premium upgrades appear, so don't burn all your resources trying to force a perfect item during early progression. Players who want to speed up a stalled upgrade can consider poe 2 buy currency for targeted crafting materials, but the build remains strongest when its defenses and minion stability grow together through PoE 2 endgame.
