The path divides in subtle ways, No grand signpost, no trumpet’s call, Yet one small step through shadowed haze May shape the rise or stall the fall. A word withheld, a hand once lent, A pause before the heart decides, Such fleeting acts, so lightly spent, Can shift the course of hidden tides.
