    इस परियोजना की मुख्य विशेषताएं निम्नलिखित हैं:
    मार्ग और कनेक्टिविटी: यह NH-15 पर गोहपुर (Gohpur) और NH-715 पर नुमालीगढ़ (Numaligarh) के बीच एक 4-लेन ग्रीनफील्ड कॉरिडोर होगा।
    दूरी और समय में बचत: वर्तमान में इन दोनों स्थानों के बीच की दूरी लगभग 240 किमी है, जिसे तय करने में 6 घंटे लगते हैं। इस सुरंग के बनने के बाद यह दूरी घटकर मात्र 33.7 किमी रह जाएगी और यात्रा का समय घटकर सिर्फ 20 से 30 मिनट रह जाएगा।
    सुरंग की लंबाई और डिजाइन: कुल 33.7 किमी लंबे इस कॉरिडोर में 15.79 किमी लंबी ट्विन-ट्यूब सुरंग (Twin-tube Tunnel) शामिल होगी। यह नदी के तल से लगभग 32 मीटर नीचे बनाई जाएगी。
    सुविधाएं: सुरंग की एक ट्यूब में रेल लाइन (एकल विद्युतीकृत ट्रैक) और दूसरी में सड़क वाहनों के लिए दो लेन होंगे।
    लागत: इस परियोजना पर कुल ₹18,662.02 करोड़ खर्च होने का अनुमान है।
    कार्यान्वयन मॉडल: इसे इंजीनियरिंग-प्रोक्योरमेंट-कंस्ट्रक्शन (EPC) मॉडल के तहत विकसित किया जाएगा।
