The grass was worn where others tread, Where comfort blooms and voices cheer. But I was led where light was shed, On ground unknown, yet crystal clear. Each step I took felt raw and true, No echo of a past design. The sky was old, the world was new— And every stone became a sign. There were no hands to pull me through, No promised ease, no paved return. Just wind and will and sky so blue, And fires I had yet to burn. I learned to trust the silent pace, To walk where footsteps had no name. To meet the shadow, face to face, And rise from ashes, not from fame. So here I stand on soil untold, A soul unchosen, yet complete. Not made of silver, not of gold— But forged by solitary feet.
